Cat Ketch rig

If you're into sailing (I've never sailed) and think the rig on this boat is unusual, be sure to read the article titled "Why a Cat Ketch?" This picture is from the designer's webpage. It's a 15 footer.
I've always loved the way Pelicans coast just above the water.

The beginning

This blog is my attempt to document the build of my next boat - a B&B Yacht Designs Bay River Skiff 17' hull #134 which I plan to christen Pelican. There is much information on the boat at the link above and some pictures of the 15' version. The plan is for my dad to take the photos and I'll provide most of the commentary - he has a much better camera than I do and likes to take pictures.

I received the plans last weekend although I scarfed my side panels before I got the plans. The construction method is stitch n' glue. I just recently finished my first boat, for which I used the same method - a Devlin Peeper. I post some pictures of that build later on too.

The hull is taking shape.
